AION UT Cross and GS7 introduced at 2026 Paris Motor Show

AION has revealed two new models at the 2026 Paris Motor Show, both due to reach the UK next year. The electric UT Cross blends SUV-style looks with agile B-segment handling, while the GS7 brings new levels of luxury and marks AION’s first hybrid powertrain in the UK.

AION UT Cross: a supermini with SUV appeal

The UT Cross builds on AION’s existing supermini offering with a car that defies easy categorisation. It is just as capable on narrow city streets as it is at swallowing camping gear for a weekend away.

The company’s Milan Design Centre created the UT Cross, which rides 20mm higher than the regular UT supermini. Rugged matt black trim protects the wheel arches and lower body, and a “floating” roof sits above practical black roof rails. Distinctive signature lighting completes a commanding, purposeful look. Wider 225mm tyres and a unique alloy wheel design add to the car’s bold stance. Inside, the cabin offers generous space for front and rear passengers, and the boot holds 440 litres.

Under the skin, the UT Cross shares its 204PS powertrain and 60kW battery with the UT hatchback, which arrived in showrooms last month. It also inherits the same spacious interior and high equipment levels. A heat pump and heated steering wheel come as standard, features more commonly found on larger cars.

AION will announce UK pricing and specification closer to the car’s launch in early 2027.

AION GS7: the brand’s first step beyond full EV

The GS7 made its European debut alongside the UT Cross in Paris. This high-quality five-seat SUV already sells in several markets across South America and Central Asia, and it will reach the UK in 2027. AION plans to offer both hybrid and plug-in hybrid power, which will be its first expansion beyond full EV powertrains.

As the first production model on AION’s new EV+ platform, the GS7 promises the refinement of a luxury car. Its plush cabin features new technology and premium touches not yet seen on other AION models. The company will share full specification and further details nearer the car’s arrival at its growing network of UK dealers.

Building a trusted brand in the UK

Jon Wakefield, Managing Director of AION Auto UK, said: “Although AION is a new name to British customers, we are not a new brand, and that is evident in the exceptionally mature quality of the product we’re introducing. Our UK line-up will grow with at least five new cars over the next 18 months, including the UT Cross and GS7, on the way to an eight-strong model family by 2030.

“In addition, we’re focusing on building a sustainable and trusted brand, and our Great 8 Promise is testament to that, providing total peace of mind throughout our customers’ ownership cycle.”

The AION Great 8 Promise is the UK’s leading aftersales proposition. It includes an eight-year warranty, eight years of roadside assistance, eight years of servicing and MOT cover until the car is eight years old. The package is VIN-locked, so it transfers with the car when ownership changes. That gives current and future AION owners long-term peace of mind, which should also appeal to fleet operators weighing up whole-life costs and residual values.
