Geely Monjaro EM-i Hybrid SUV begins global rollout
Geely Auto is set to begin the global rollout of its new hybrid D-segment SUV, the Geely Monjaro EM-i, with the model making its international debut in Egypt in late August before expanding into other global markets.

As Geely Auto’s first global D-SUV, the Monjaro EM-i is positioned as “A Global Advanced Handling & Quality Benchmark among the D-SUV Hybrid Segment”, combining flagship technology, hybrid performance, intelligent features and comprehensive safety.
Geely targets global growth with new hybrid flagship
The launch comes as demand for premium new energy vehicles (NEVs) continues to grow in international markets, creating opportunities for Chinese manufacturers to accelerate their global expansion.
Under its “One Geely” strategy, Geely has significantly increased its overseas presence. In the first half of 2026, overseas sales exceeded 474,000 vehicles, while July exports reached a record 106,663 units. This represented a 202% year-on-year increase and marked seven consecutive months of both year-on-year and month-on-month growth.
The Monjaro EM-i is the latest addition to Geely’s expanding global NEV portfolio, designed specifically to strengthen the company’s presence in international markets and compete in the increasingly important premium hybrid SUV sector.
GEA Evo architecture underpins Monjaro EM-i

The Geely Monjaro EM-i is based on the company’s new-energy-native GEA Evo architecture, which has been developed to support multiple powertrain technologies while providing greater flexibility in packaging, space and safety.
The platform is complemented by Geely’s GEEA 3.0 electronic and electrical architecture, supporting the SUV’s advanced intelligent functions and flagship positioning.
According to Geely, the GEA Evo architecture enables improvements in space, performance, intelligence and safety. The Monjaro EM-i offers a spacious cabin, while its EM-i Super Hybrid system is designed to combine strong performance with low energy consumption.
The SUV will also become Geely’s first overseas model to feature the Xingrui Intelligent Large Language Model. This is integrated with the Flyme Auto in-vehicle infotainment system, providing an intelligent cockpit designed to evolve through future software and technology updates.
Safety is another key focus. The Monjaro EM-i combines active and passive safety systems with Geely’s Shendun Battery Safety System to provide protection for occupants and the hybrid powertrain.
The model also introduces Geely’s e-AWD Intelligent Electric AWD System to overseas markets, adding all-wheel-drive capability while enhancing traction, handling and driving performance.

Monjaro name reflects ambition
The Monjaro EM-i’s name takes inspiration from Africa’s highest peak, Mount Kilimanjaro. Geely says the mountain’s snow-covered summit and imposing presence reflect the qualities it wants the SUV to convey, combining grandeur and purity with power and restraint.
Its philosophy is captured by the “Peak Within. Drive Beyond.” slogan, which is intended to represent ambition, confidence and composure.
The global launch of the Monjaro EM-i forms part of Geely’s broader strategy to expand its range of electrified vehicles beyond China. The company is increasingly targeting international customers with models developed around the requirements of global markets rather than simply exporting existing domestic products.
With the Monjaro EM-i, Geely is entering the global D-segment hybrid SUV market with a combination of electrification, intelligent technology, all-wheel-drive capability and premium positioning.
The rollout begins in Egypt in late August, with further international markets expected to follow as Geely continues to expand its global NEV presence.
