PDT Fleet Training Solutions were one of the very first to become a part of this program and have helped many new drivers into a career in HGV.

As a result of their excellence in driver training, PDT have been given a further £2.5 million to provide funded training to support candidates into HGV driving roles.

70% funding of training is available to companies that wish to upskill their existing driver workforce, while 100% funding is available for companies employing new HGV drivers, and who have successfully completed the HGV Skills Bootcamp.

PDT’s Director and Founder, Samantha Leleu said: “We’re extremely proud to have been awarded a further contract with the DfE on this programme. This government lead scheme is having a hugely positive impact within the transport and logistics sector in getting new HGV drivers behind the wheel and into HGV driving employment.

“Since we launched the first HGV Skills Bootcamp in December 2021, we’ve spoken to thousands of people in England who want to become HGV drivers. Now further funding has been released, we will be able to assist even more aspiring drivers to gain their HGV licence and support into driving employment.

“Logistics companies, like all businesses have been hit with exponential increases in operating costs, and therefore having access to government funding to provide businesses with the opportunity to continue to invest in their workforce, creating next generation of HGV drivers has been an essential financial lifeline for the sector.”

The courses are run by highly experienced and knowledgeable instructors that carefully guide the candidate though not just the driver training, but the law and regulations that apply to HGV/LGV drivers and the steps required to gain both Class 1 & 2 licences.
