APPROVED: Do you think Budget was good news?

George Osborne’s latest Budget will prove to be good for business, 52% of fleet operators have claimed.

A week-long survey, conducted by TrackCompare.co.uk, revealed company car operators believe the changes introduced by the Chancellor would benefit them personally.

Kjell Anderton, Director at TrackCompare, said: “This budget was very much a give and take affair, so the results are in line with our expectations and the comments received from our cost-conscious customers.

“Of course, cancellation of September’s fuel duty increase and the higher rate tax threshold rise were both warmly welcomed.

“Also, the £200million for a pothole fund was a pleasant surprise, particularly in light of a recent TrackCompare poll which found almost 45% of UK fleets had vehicles damaged by potholes over the winter.

“Needless to say, the 2% company car tax hike didn’t go down at all well.”
