SUCCESS: Sale brings in £600,000 for Volvo Trucks

Volvo Trucks’ first-ever UK auction has resulted in a 100% sale rate, with all 27 vehicles on offer raking in a collective £606,900.

Delivered by Manheim Leeds on October 3, the auction featured eighteen 2009 59-plated FH13 460 Globetrotter XL 6×2 tractor units and nine 2008 58-plated FH13 440 Globetrotter 6×2 tractor units.

A total of 48 buyers registered physically on the sale day, with a further 110 joining on Simulcast, Manheim’s virtual auction channel.

Manheim Leeds’ commercial vehicles team also set a new record on the same day, selling more than £1million-worth of trucks in one auction.

In total, just over 100 trucks – or 76% of the entry – were sold via physical or online routes.

James Davis, Director of Commercial Vehicles at Manheim, said: “The team at Leeds have delivered an industry-leading result for Volvo Trucks.

“Manheim’s buyers, whether dealers, exporters or operators, recognised the provenance and pedigree of the inventory on offer.

“We tapped into Manheim’s unique global remarketing footprint to advertise these trucks as far away as New Zealand, Thailand and Australia, as well as the UK of course!

“As expected, bidding was highly competitive, both online and in the hall, with over half of the 59 plated trucks selling to end users.”

Mike Corcoran, General Manager of Volvo Used Trucks, added: “We were extremely impressed with the effort Manheim put into the pre-sale marketing and delighted with the results achieved.

“We are in no doubt that we made the right decision in selecting Manheim to carry out our first branded sale and look forward to working with them again in the future.”
