BOOST: Better fuel economy for new Iveco

Iveco’s new Stralis Hi-Way Euro 6 enjoys a fuel consumption reduction of 2.33% compared to the outgoing Euro 5 model, TUV tests have confirmed.

The boost, according to Iveco, is achieved thanks to the innovative catalytic reduction system (HI-eSCR) and the enhanced aerodynamics of the new Hi-Way cab.

The tests compared a new Stralis Hi-Way tractor unit equipped with a 460hp Euro VI Cursor 11 engine with a previous-generation Stralis equipped with a 460hp Euro V Cursor 10 engine.

Both models were in EcoStralis configuration.

Lorenzo Sistino, Brand President of Iveco, said: “Today’s achievement is another important demonstration of the continued work by Iveco to reduce fuel consumption.

“This commitment has already allowed the EcoStralis Euro V model to obtain TUV certification with a reduction in fuel consumption of 7.32% compared to a standard Stralis from the same generation.”
