100% UK-made brakes for leading distributor

Euro Car Parts, a leading UK distributor of vehicle parts, has introduced a new range of Eicher brake pads which are 100% made in Britain.

Supplying Eicher are TMD Friction, the world’s largest manufacturer of original equipment (OE) brake friction material for passenger cars and commercial vehicles.

The complete range of Eicher brake pads will be made at TMD’s state-of-the-art aftermarket facility in Kilmarnock, Scotland, and supplied exclusively to Euro Car Parts.

All pads are R90 approved, complying with Block Exemption regulations, allowing Eicher to guarantee matching performance to the original parts and also ensuring the vehicle manufacturer’s warranty remains intact.

The initial range of 479 part numbers covers 97% of the UK market and will be continuously developed to cover all the latest applications.

Carl Jackson, Director – Business Development IAM, TMD Friction, said: “Partnering with Euro Car Parts on Eicher is a significant move for TMD Friction in the UK.

“We have never put our name to a private seller before but we are confident that each Eicher brake pad is at least the equivalent of any aftermarket competitor.

“This year alone we have invested £1.5m in our facility in Kilmarnock. As an example of how the Eicher pads benefit from our industry-leading OE research and development, the friction material is pressed using hot technology.

“Importantly, TMD’s aftermarket customers now have greater choice: Eicher or our famous OE brands.”

Martin Gray, Chief Executive Officer at Euro Car Parts, said: “The TMD hologram on the box tells you everything you need to know about the new Eicher brake pads.

“This is a very high-end aftermarket product and we are supporting the launch with a major marketing campaign.
