British Car Auctions’ (BCA) ongoing partnership with the AA will see more than 250,000 vehicles inspected under their Assured brand this year.
The deal, which will take the overall volume to nearly 600,000 vehicles since 2012, represents one of the biggest inspection partnerships in the UK motor industry.
BCA Assured provides buyers a report on a 30-point independent mechanical check carried out on cars and LCVs under eight years old by the AA.
The check includes an onsite drive to test brakes, warning lights, tyre depths, engine noise, gearbox check, vehicle suspension and fluid levels.
“The AA is delighted that our partnership with BCA Assured has already helped hundreds of thousands of vehicles to be sold with greater transparency and insight.”
David Bruce, AA Cars
AA inspectors are based at BCA’s centres nationwide and reports are uploaded instantaneously into the BCA database.
The report appears in digital catalogues on the BCA website and a printed copy is available with the vehicle when it is sold.
Buyers have up to 48hours or 500miles to inform BCA if the vehicle they purchased does not match the report it was sold with.
BCA will rectify faults on any vehicles that are misreported and in extreme circumstances provide a full refund.
Simon Henstock, Operations Director at BCA, said: “BCA Assured provides peace of mind for private customers and another level of product confidence for trade buyers.
“Sellers can generate an even stronger following for their brand at BCA by using BCA Assured to create a high degree of transparency for the vehicles they sell.
“It’s just one more way BCA is easier to do business with.
“The partnership with the AA brings a massive range of benefits, including the scale and scope to deliver such a comprehensive service across the BCA network and a renowned brand name synonymous with reliability and trustworthiness.”
David Bruce, Director of AA Cars, added: “The AA is delighted that our partnership with BCA Assured has already helped hundreds of thousands of vehicles to be sold with greater transparency and insight.
“The AA is pleased that our ongoing work with BCA brings more certainty and trust to this important market.”
