Arnold Clark opens UK-wide ultra-rapid EV charging network utilising Arnold Clark Charge

Allstar Announced as first fleet roaming partner for Arnold Clark Charge

Allstar, one of the UK’s leading EV, fuel and business expense payment companies, today welcomes Arnold Clark Charge to its electric vehicle (EV) charging payment network and will be the first fleet roaming partner on Arnold Clark’s EV fleet charging network. The exclusive deal with the UK’s largest independent car retailer adds 103 charging locations and a total of 342 rapid and ultra-rapid chargers to the UK-wide Allstar network.

As part of a £30 million investment in Arnold Clark Charge, the dealer group is planning to install 500 EV chargers at more than 100 locations across the UK. A number of its existing charge points have been added to Allstar’s growing electric charging network for businesses across the UK, which now includes more than 70,000 chargers across more than 26,000 locations. 83% of its EV charging network is fast, rapid and ultra-rapid.

Customers can pay for charging via their Allstar Chargepass card or the Allstar Co-Pilot app at all locations on the car retailer’s charge point network, while also benefiting from booking charging slots and cheaper rates through their dedicated app.

Alongside vehicle sales, Arnold Clark provides services including service and repairs, vehicle rental, and EV charging. Their 200 branches and 150 service centres are part of the nationwide garage network available on Allstar ServicePoint. This means Allstar customers can use the online portal to book, approve, and settle all vehicle maintenance requests for Arnold Clark locations, while now also enabling them to charge their EV on sites that have the facilities to do so after their vehicle has had service, maintenance and repair (SMR) work completed.

Paul Holland, Managing Director for UK/ANZ Fleet at Corpay, including UK brand, Allstar, said: “Partnering with Arnold Clark Charge as their first EV fleet roaming provider signals the growing importance of services for EVs at any touchpoint, whether that’s at the point of purchase or when taking the vehicle in for a service. As EVs become mainstream, businesses and their drivers will rely on unified, reliable charging access. This partnership brings that vision closer to reality, creating an electrified mobility ecosystem.”

Russell Borrie, Chief Executive Officer at Arnold Clark, commented: “We’re committed to investing in the future of the automotive industry and making electric vehicle charging accessible to everyone.

“With electric vehicles becoming increasingly popular, it’s essential that our charging infrastructure keeps pace with rising demand.

“That’s why we’ve made significant investments in our own UK-wide, bookable ultra-rapid charging network, Arnold Clark Charge.

“These new charging hubs are designed to provide the public with convenient, reliable, and cost-effective charging solutions while they’re on the move.”

Pablo Levi, Group Sustainability Manager at Arnold Clark, said: “We’ve had a strong relationship with Allstar for a number of years, so it was a natural fit to select them as our first EV fleet roaming partner.

“We look forward to being able to further support UK business drivers adopting EVs and offering them a seamless payment system as well as other fleet operation services.”
