The BMW 4 Series Gran Coupe is the more practical version of the BMW 4 Series Coupe and is a 4-door hatchback for those who want something a bit more sporty than a 3 Series saloon/hatchback.

BMW’s tradition of offering a large number of engines in both petrol and diesel versions. All are nippy and offer plenty of power. The 2.0-Litre petrol engine in the 420i can push out 184bhp however, the 430i with the automatic gearbox can accelerate 0-62mph in 5 seconds. Handling is smooth rather than sporty and gives the feel of a cruiser than a sports car. Fitted with BMW’s xDrive four-wheel drive system, there is plenty of grip and stability.

There is plenty of room for four adults with more leg room in the rear than is available on the 4 Series Coupe, and, of course, access is far easier with the car being a 4-door. The boot matches the size of the 3 Series saloon at 480-Litres, but by folding the rear seats, this rises to 1,300-Litres.

The BMW 4 Series Gran Coupe keeps the style and desirability of the standard coupe, but with added practicality.
