The RoSPA Fleet Safety Awards 2020 are now open for registration

The RoSPA Fleet Safety Awards 2020 – which reward excellence in managing occupational road risk – are now open for registrations.

The awards are part of the RoSPA Health and Safety Awards scheme, which last year had almost 2,000 entries from organisations of all shapes and sizes, and from more than 30 countries. Winners now represent more than 7million people worldwide, helping to keep them safe at work and beyond.

Sponsored by NEBOSH, the RoSPA Awards culminate in the famous gala dinner evenings in London, Birmingham and Glasgow. As well as offering non-competitive achievement awards – in which Gold, Silver, Bronze and Merits are awarded – entrants can bid to be crowned the winner of the RoSPA Fleet Safety Trophy and the RoSPA Fleet Safety Technology Trophy, sponsored by Tesco.

The Fleet Safety Trophy is presented to the organisation that has most effectively managed its occupational road risks over the past 12 months, while the Fleet Safety Technology Trophy is handed to the entrant that displays the most impressive use of technology within their management of road risk.

Entrants gain access to a growing, worldwide community of likeminded professionals through the Awards Excellence Forum, sponsored by HSE Recruitment – a place to share and learn from best practice, enabling the improvement of health and safety systems globally, through regular events and seminars. And those looking to gain the highest possible accolade can partner up with high-performing entrants as part of the mentorship programme.

Julia Small, RoSPA’s head of awards, said: “The RoSPA Awards are no longer just an awards scheme – they have gone way beyond that as, by working with our fantastic entrants, we are driving up health and safety standards around the world, making sure more and more people leave work unharmed each and every day.

“Through the Awards Excellence Forum, we know organisations are constantly improving their health and safety practices, and the entry process itself enables practitioners and teams to reflect and learn – and they earn CPD points.

“RoSPA is also committed to improving its processes, and updates to entry guidance this year will ask organisations to focus on ‘why’ they take health and safety actions, so judges will be looking for evidence that is reflected in workplace culture.”

The RoSPA Awards 2020 are open for registration from today (Tuesday, October 1) – register before October 31 to take advantage of early-bird discounts, and there are further discounts for RoSPA members.

The presentation ceremonies and gala dinners will take place on May 19 in London, June 4 in Birmingham, and September 17 in Glasgow.
