DUE: Mercedes V-Class arrives in 2015

Mercedes-Benz’s all-new V-Class will hit the UK in early 2015, it has been revealed.

The eight-seater MPV will be available with two wheelbases, an Exterior Sports package, an Interior Design package and numerous optional extras.

It will be powered by a 2.1litre four-cylinder turbodiesel, available in two output levels: the 49.6mpg V 220 CDI and 46mpg V 250 BlueTEC.

Features of the MPV include nappa leather, ambient lighting, leather-look cockpit upper section, multifunction steering wheel, COMAND Online and Burmester surround sound system.

It will also be the only vehicle in the segment to offer optional four-way lumbar support, active seat ventilation and THERMOTRONIC automatic climate control.

The vehicle is designed to make loading and unloading easy, with an opening rear windscreen attached to the upper tailgate frame.

Safety systems include Crosswind Assist, Attention Assist, Active Park Assist, Distronic Plus proximity control, Collision Prevention Assist, Traffic Sign Assist, Blind Spot Assist and Lane Keeping Assist.

Dr Dieter Zetsche, Chairman of the Board of Management at Daimler AG and Head of Cars Division at Mercedes-Benz, said: “Functionality is a must for an MPV.

“Comfort and style are the icing on the cake.

“The new V-Class combines both in a way no other vehicle in this segment can offer.”

Full pricing and specification will be confirmed in due course.
