HelloFresh selects Samsara as telematics partner
HelloFresh has chosen Samsara Inc. (NYSE: IOT), the pioneer of the Connected Operations® Platform, as its telematics partner. The meal-kit provider will use Samsara’s technology to improve driver safety, vehicle health and food quality across its Benelux delivery network.
Full Rollout Across More Than 500 Electric Vans
Following a successful pilot in the Netherlands, HelloFresh Benelux will deploy Samsara across its entire fleet of more than 500 electric delivery vans. These vehicles operate from more than 10 regional hubs, so the rollout covers a significant part of the company’s last-mile delivery operation.
Why Food Delivery Fleets Need Connected Operations
Food e-commerce and meal-kit providers run some of the most complex logistics networks in the industry. Managing physical operations at this scale demands real-time visibility into driver safety, vehicle health and temperature compliance. That need is especially pressing for forward-thinking electric fleets that work across multiple hubs.
Building a Safer Driving Culture
Safety sits at the centre of the partnership. “At HelloFresh, innovation is at the heart of everything we do, from our kitchens to our final-mile delivery,” said Mark Sugirtharajah, Senior Director Logistics Europe at HelloFresh. “Partnering with Samsara allows us to take our safety policies and operational practices to the next level. By providing our drivers with feedback on their driving style, we can proactively foster a safer driving culture, dramatically reduce on-road incidents, and better protect the communities we serve.”
Regular feedback gives drivers clear guidance on how to improve. Over time, this approach can help HelloFresh Benelux reduce incidents and strengthen its safety standards across every hub.
Telematics, Temperature Monitoring and Driver Tools
HelloFresh Benelux will use Samsara’s open platform for advanced telematics, real-time safety coaching and temperature monitoring to protect food quality. Drivers will also use the Samsara Driver App to streamline their daily workflows. The platform integrates seamlessly into HelloFresh’s existing proprietary IT landscape, so the new tools sit alongside the systems the company already relies on.
A New Benchmark for Modern, Sustainable Fleets
Samsara sees the partnership as a strong endorsement of its approach. “HelloFresh is a global pioneer in food tech, and we are excited to be selected as their long-term partner to digitise their physical operations in the Benelux,” said Ryan Yu, VP of Product at Samsara. “By moving away from siloed systems and embracing our integrated platform, HelloFresh is establishing a new benchmark for how modern, sustainable fleets operate. This collaboration demonstrates how Connected Operations can empower teams to protect their drivers, safeguard their cargo, and run more efficient networks in real time.”
What the Deployment Means for Fleet Operators
The rollout reflects a wider shift towards integrated platforms that replace disconnected tools. By bringing safety coaching, vehicle data and temperature monitoring into one system, HelloFresh Benelux can spot issues earlier and respond faster.
Fleet managers weighing up their own telematics options can also learn from the approach. HelloFresh started with a pilot in the Netherlands, tested the technology in real conditions and then committed to a full deployment. That staged route offers a practical model for other operators planning to electrify and digitise their fleets.
