Record September sales of 8,216 cars helped the Barcelona-based brand to reach 2.95% market share in the year to September, up from 2.64% during the same period of 2018.

The strong results continue following the successful launch of the all-new Tarraco seven-seater SUV, the CUPRA Ateca performance SUV, and with strong demand for the popular Arona compact SUV.

Globally, SEAT also achieved its best ever September result, selling 43,200 vehicles. Records have also been set for the January to September period: in 2019 the brand delivered 454,800 cars, up 9.4% compared to the same period last year.

Richard Harrison, Managing Director of SEAT UK said: “It’s encouraging to see our growth momentum continue despite the market headwinds; it shows just how desirable our latest range of award-winning products are, and reflects the passion and enthusiasm of our retailer partners.

“The recently launched all-new Tarraco SUV and the CUPRA Ateca performance SUV are just the start of our next wave of new products, which includes six further new models over the next 12 months, starting with the all-electric Mii city car, which opens for ordering next month, together with our big plans for our CUPRA performance division, the future looks even more exciting.”
