HGVC, a leading HGV driver training specialist, has launched a nationwide warehouse training offering, providing accredited programmes tailored specifically for the warehouse environment.

Warehouse training is a logistical headache for large businesses with complex supply chains. Inadequately trained employees can reduce productivity, lead to safety incidents and create inefficiencies that impact the bottom line. Employees must be fully compliant with the latest health and safety laws to avoid risks. Coordinating training across multiple locations can be challenging. Inactivity impacts productivity and can lead to financial losses.

HGVC’s new offering consolidates its 12 years’ experience helping warehouse employees work safely and efficiently. The firm provides centralised coordination of all courses to help upskill warehouse employees; ensure health and safety compliance; minimise downtime; and manage training across many locations. HGVC is already trusted to provide warehouse training to some of the world’s largest companies including ecommerce giant Amazon, utilities company Scottish Power, and business process outsourcing firm Capita.

James Fuller, Customer Operations at Amazon, said: “HGVC have become our preferred training provider and we wouldn’t recommend anyone else. Their managed service is second to none and they always go out of their way to please us.”

HGVC’s warehouse training courses include:

  • Forklift driver training: beginner and experienced level training across the most commonly used forklifts including counterbalance and reach trucks, as well as specialised training for more niche operations such as rough terrain or narrow aisle.
  • Introduction to warehousing: a one-day, intensive course introducing warehouse safety and operations, covering everything from manual handling and health and safety to relevant employment law.
  • First aid: an accredited first aid course tailored for high-risk, large workplaces, particularly those with machinery and manual tasks. Businesses can choose from basic one day training or three-day advanced courses.

James Clifford, CEO of HGVC, said: “Working in a warehouse without appropriate training can be extremely dangerous. It can also reduce productivity and create costly inefficiencies. Our fully managed warehouse training service ensures businesses get courses they need to upskill employees to work safely and efficiently in this unique environment. What’s more, managing and coordinating training for a large workforce spread across multiple locations can be a logistical challenge. Recognising how important it is for warehouses to minimise downtime, we coordinate everything centrally to make it simple for businesses to upskill their warehouse employees.”

All HGVC warehouse training courses can be undertaken on or off-site and are quality assured and Ofsted compliant.
