SDC Trailers’ ‘stellar growth’ continues with gala event to mark the official launch of the SDC Group in the Middle East

SDC Trailers have set their sights on the Middle Eastern HGV trailer market, following a number of orders for their specialised units in the region. The official launch took place at a gala event at the Atlantis Palm Hotel in Dubai this weekend which was attended by 60 guests including logistics and transport operators from the region. 12 key suppliers also attended, with discussions around a series of orders, and the company expects to make a number of announcements in the coming months. SDC also met with Enterprise, Trade and Investment Minister, Arlene Foster in Dubai.

SDC Group Managing Director Mark Cuskeran said this launch marks the latest stage in the companies’ development, with further major announcements in the pipeline:
“SDC has been working across the Middle East for some time now, building our profile and our understanding of how to do business successfully in the region. Earlier in 2014 we announced a €1.5million trailer order from the Rezayat Group in Saudi Arabia and we believe there is a lot more business to be done there.”

Crescent Transportation, a leading logistics service provider in Saudi Arabia, took delivery of 60 flatbed trailers from SDC during 2014. James Graham from Crescent Transportation said that the experience of working with SDC has been flawless:
“From the outset, the experience with SDC has been very positive and we are pleased to locate a supplier who has the will and capability to listen to our needs and deliver quality, precision engineered solutions matching our expectations. The trailers supplied by SDC are unique to Saudi Arabia in many ways. In comparison with standard equipment available in Saudi Arabia, the trailers are a giant leap in terms of build quality and feature safety enhancing technology.”

SDC Parts is also working actively in the region and have secured £120,000 worth of truck and trailer parts business from the region over the past few months. The company offer a combination of robust, customer specified products at a competitive price due to the economies of scale of building over 8,000 trailers per year.
