The Northamptonshire-based company has already taken delivery of six new Citroen Dispatch vans and has a further eight on order – together the 12 vehicles will constitute a whole fleet replacement.

For proprietor Ian Young, the initial decision to turn to Vanaways came almost by chance. “Previously I’d used a variety of suppliers, usually after spending hours trawling the internet to find vehicles that were actually available – although I found that just because someone says they have vans in stock, it’s not always necessarily true,” he recalled.

“I started to notice the Vanaways name after seeing repeated social media posts from their Business Development Director, Liam Nicholas. He seemed to be in touch with a lot of people who were looking to add to their fleets, and invariably the feedback he received was very positive.

“I thought, if so many others are trying to get hold of this guy he must be worth a look, so I decided to give him a call and was immediately impressed with Vanways’ no-nonsense approach. Their acquisition process was very streamlined and simple and it was clear they had a track record of living up to their promises regarding delivery and lead times, so I placed our order for the first six vans.

“It proved to be a wise choice,” he continued. “The first batch of vehicles arrived without delay and, although we’d never had Citroens before, they were perfect for our needs. The price was right and the delivery was quick, which is more important to me than insisting on a particular make or model.”

The vehicles in service, and the eight vans scheduled for delivery soon, are all Dispatch Enterprise Edition 1000 XL models, with 100ps engines. Their interiors are ply-lined and fitted with racking systems by Van Pro, of Corby, along with built-in generators and a range of testing implements.

“Our work is highly specialised so our vans need to be equipped accordingly,” explained Mr Young.

IY Commissioning’s engineers are called in to approve water supplies at new building developments. As well as checking that pipework networks are free from leaks and able to withstand the required pressures, they also test that water in them is safe to drink.

Founded in 2017 with a single vehicle, the company now works for national property developers, contractors and the UK’s leading water providers – offering a range of services including pipeline swabbing, hydrostatic pressure testing and chlorination certification.

Vanaways Business Development Director Liam Nicholas said: “Our simple ordering system and rapid turnaround gave IY Commissioning the vehicles they needed in double-quick time. We arranged a competitive lease package through one of our funding partners, and took their previous vehicles in part-exchange, which also removed a disposal headache for Ian Young and his team.

“By making the transition to a new fleet as painless as possible we’ve allowed this business to concentrate on what it does best – delivering a reliable service to its customers nationwide.”
