Skip hire specialist Ellete Waste has taken delivery of its first four vehicles on long-term hire from Mac’s Truck Rental as it expands its services into West Yorkshire and the surrounding area.

The new fleet comprises three skip loaders and one hook loader, all fitted with VDL equipment and finished in Ellete Waste’s distinctive silver livery. Selected from Mac’s readily available stock, the vehicles enabled the company to put its new operation on the road quickly.

Each truck has been purpose-built for demanding waste operations, with the work completed at Ellete Waste’s manufacturing facility in Huddersfield.

Peter Sawrij, Director of Ellete Waste, says: “Several members of our team have worked with Mac’s Truck Rental previously, so they were already at the top of our list. We also needed a quick turnaround to get the vehicles on the road, and Mac’s delivered. The long-term hire option has allowed us to put brand new vehicles into service straight away, without the need for significant upfront capital, which was key as we launched this new part of the business.”

The largest vehicle is a 32-tonne DAF CF 450 8×4 hook loader, built on a construction-specification chassis with a raised steel front bumper and fitted with VDL 25-tonne hook equipment.

It features a Transcover hydraulic side-extending sheeting system for the safe transportation of full skips, alongside stabiliser jacks, aluminium chequer-plate mud wings, rear light guards and external manual override controls.

The three skip loaders comprise two 18-tonne DAF XB 260 4×2 models, each equipped with 14-tonne VDL skip equipment and hydraulic tower sheeting. The smaller 12-tonne DAF XB 210 4×2 features an eight-tonne VDL system and Transcover sheeting.

All three have high-strength Domex steel and construction-specification chassis, providing the durability required for intensive daily use while supporting safe and efficient loading and unloading.

The vehicles were supplied through Mac’s Truck Rental’s long-term hire package, which combines servicing, inspections, maintenance, emergency roadside assistance and road fund licensing within a single monthly cost.

Both the chassis and VDL equipment are also covered by manufacturer warranties, providing additional reassurance for the operator.

“Keeping everything under one roof with Mac’s makes the process so much easier,” adds Sawrij. “We’ve always got support when we need it, and that reliability, backed by their strong aftersales service, will keep us coming back.”

The new trucks will operate from 7am to 5pm, five days a week, supporting Ellete Waste’s skip hire services across Halifax and the surrounding area.

The company supplies two, four and eight-yard skips to commercial and domestic customers, with the new vehicles providing additional capacity as it develops its presence across West Yorkshire.

For Ellete Waste, long-term hire has provided a way to introduce new, purpose-built vehicles without a significant upfront capital commitment, while giving the company the maintenance and roadside support needed to keep its trucks working.
