Hassle-free transaction – including a painless part-exchange procedure – persuaded electrical contractor Jeffway to switch to independent vehicle supplier Vanaways.

The Bristol-based operator has now taken delivery of eight Renault Trafic vans and a single, smaller, Citroen Berlingo. All are in daily use by operatives working around the city.

For Jeffway Compliance Manager Andrew Giles, the decision to turn to Vanaways was driven largely by the supplier’s positive to approach to taking previous vehicles off his hands.

“We had some older vehicles that we needed to replace with Euro 6 vans, because a lot of our work is inside the Bristol Clean Air Zone,” he explained. “We started talking to a few suppliers, but many were either not interested in taking our older vans in part-ex or wanted to make the process unnecessarily complicated.

“Vanaways immediately offered a stark contrast to that – we told them what we wanted, and they agreed a package almost immediately. They took our old vehicles away and delivered the new ones to our premises within a tight timeframe, with no delays.

“The whole process was smooth, easy, and took up the minimum of our time so that we could stay focused on running our business and delivering high standards for our customers, with no interruptions.”

The Renault Trafics are Business+ models with 2.0-litre, 130bhp engines. The single Berlingo has a 1.5-litre powerplant generating 100bhp and is an Enterprise model.

They are used by electricians, plumbers and carpenters on domestic and commercial contracts, including installing kitchens and bathrooms, and servicing heating systems in social housing developments across Bristol. All were delivered with ply-lined interiors.

“We initially took five vehicles in the summer but the experience of dealing with Vanaways, in terms of the ease of the whole process and their very competitive pricing, was so positive that we had no hesitation in returning to them with a subsequent order for four more,” said Mr Giles.

Established in 1989, Jeffway now has more than 200 full-time team members working on electrical and construction contracts across the South West of England and South Wales. The company is also an enthusiastic supporter of local charities – it has raised well over £150,000 for Bristol’s St Peter’s Hospice.

Vanaways Sales Executive Lewis Boreham added: “We were delighted to win the initial order from Jeffway, and even more pleased that our straightforward ordering system and rapid turnaround impressed them enough to win a second order too.”
