REVEALED: Volvo V60 Plug-in Hybrid R-Design
Volvo are adding the sporty R-Design specification to their V60 Plug-in Hybrid range.
Priced from £51,675, excluding the £5,000 Plug-in Car Grant, the new variant can be ordered now, with deliveries expected from August.
It features an R-Design front bumper and grille, rear diffuser and 18inch Ixion wheels.
Inside, the car comes with a full R-Design interior, with sports seats, sports pedals, sports floor mats, charcoal headlining and Volvo On Call telematics system as standard.
“The customer gets segment-topping performance combined with outstanding efficiency.”

The car, which has front wheels powered by a five-cylinder 215hp 2.4litre turbodiesel and paired with six-speed automatic transmission, also retains the special plug-in hybrid instrumentation and information.
Its rear axle is powered by a 70hp electric motor, supplied with power from an 11.2kWh lithium-ion battery pack installed under the floor of the load compartment.
In default hybrid mode, CO2 emissions are at 48g/km, with a fuel consumption of 155.2mpg; 31miles can be covered using pure electric.
Alain Visser, Senior Vice President of Marketing, Sales and Customer Service at Volvo Car Group, said: “We sold almost 8,000 plug-in hybrids in 2013.
“Adding the R-Design dynamic attributes to the V60 Plug-in Hybrid – the world’s first diesel plug-in hybrid – will further broaden its appeal.
