DROP: Travis Perkins have boosted efficiency

Driver performance management and fuel reduction processes facilitated by Masternaut are delivering huge benefits for the Travis Perkins Group.

The leading builders’ merchant and home improvement retailer have been using Masternaut’s solution to improve overall fleet efficiency, focusing on depot turnaround time, idling and straying.

As a result, Travis Perkins have enjoyed 70% daily idling reductions, and are now introducing the system to a further 1,000 vehicles across their 3,000-strong fleet.

Richard Horton, Head of Transport Development at Travis Perkins Group, said: “This is a great outcome for our business and our customers.”

The Masternaut system provides full visibility of fleet activity across the UK, allowing Travis Perkins to drill down and evaluate the performance of individual vehicles.

Their real-time, web-based fleet management solution includes monitoring the Power Take-Off (PTO) usage on vehicles (‘good idling’), and the non-PTO idling (‘bad idling’).

Travis Perkins managers can access this system via the organisation’s intranet interface, helping them to drive performance improvements within their regions.

Martin Hiscox, CEO of Masternaut, said: “The sustained vehicle efficiency improvements of our partnership show that telematics is an area prime for investment.

“Masternaut was originally chosen ahead of other telematics providers to work with the Travis Perkins Group because of its track record for developing strong working relationships.

“We have the largest R&D division in the European telematics market and work alongside our customers to ensure each bespoke solution gets them maximum results.”

Masternaut are Europe’s largest provider of telematics solutions.

They have more than 600 employees and 10,000 customers, designing and delivering innovative mobile workforce management technologies.
