DEBUT: Volvo FMX-420 Euro6
Volvo Trucks are making their Demolition Expo show debut this week – and are looking forward to exhibiting their new FMX 8×4 Euro 6-compliant tipper.
Friday and Saturday’s show, at Arden Brickworks, near Birmingham, will see the Boweld-bodied truck displayed on the Volvo Construction Equipment stand.
The vehicle features Volvo’s latest D13K420, 13-litre Euro-6 engine, which develops 420hp from 1,400 to 1,800rpm and 2,100Nm of torque between 860 and 1,400rpm.
It is also equipped with the latest AT2612E 12-speed I-Shift automated gearbox with I-See software.
I-See takes care of gear selection, acceleration and engine braking on hills in the most fuel efficient way possible.
With I-See, all equipped trucks have access to current, updated information about the gradients they come across.
As the information is based on actual topographical conditions – not on maps – it can be refreshed and updated by other I-See equipped Volvo trucks travelling the same route.
Since its launch, the FMX has made a major impact on the construction truck market.
The latest version was launched this year at the BAUMA Show in Germany.
Demolition Expo is organised by the National Federation of Demolition Contractors (NFDC).
