REVEALED: New Mercedes-Benz C-Class

Mercedes’ new C-Class will be priced from £26,855 and available with a choice of two engines and three trims, it has been revealed.

Set for June delivery, the saloon can be paired with either a 184hp C 200 petrol or a 170hp C 220 BlueTEC, and six-speed manual or seven-speed automatic.

The former engine achieves 0-62mph in 7.5seconds, economy of 53.3mpg and CO2 emissions of 123g/km, while the latter achieves 0-62mph in 7.7seconds, up to 70.6mpg and 103g/km CO2 emissions.

A further three engine variants – the C 200 BlueTEC, C 250 BlueTEC and C 300 BlueTEC Hybrid – will follow over the coming year.

Trims available are the SE, Sport and the AMG Line, with standard equipment including 16inch wheels, entertainment touchpad, air conditioning and a media interface.

Reversing camera, rain sensing wipers, Attention Assist, cruise control, heated windscreen wiper washers and tyre pressure monitoring system also feature.

The Sport adds the likes of 17inch alloy wheels, LED highlights and satellite navigation, with the AMG Line boasting 18inch AMG wheels and sports suspension.

BIK tax rates will range from 16% to 18%.
