DEBUT: Mercedes reveal new C-Class Estate

Mercedes-Benz will begin the expansion of their C-Class family with a new Estate model, it has been confirmed.

To be launched in September, the new offering will enjoy increased dimensions and a larger load capacity.

It has a 80mm bigger wheelbase, is 96mm longer and is 40mm wider, with boot space upped to 1,510litres.

Prof Dr Thomas Weber, Member of the Board of Management of Daimler AG, said: “The new C-Class Estate is not only extremely practical thanks to its large, variable load compartment.

“With its state-of-the-art technical features it also stands out in its segment in regards to safety, efficiency and comfort.”

Three BlueDirect four-cylinder petrol engines and one BlueDirect six‑cylinder petrol engine will initially be available, with power outputs ranging from 156hp to 333hp.

A diesel engine combined with a hybrid module will follow; the C 300 BlueTEC Hybrid with four-cylinder diesel engine and compact electric motor will generate a power output of 204hp, plus 27hp, delivering 74mpg.

The new C-Class Estate is also available with 4MATIC all-wheel drive.

Available features include Attention Assist, Collision Prevention Assist Plus, Brake Assist System, Distronic Plus, Distronic Plus with Steering Assist and Stop&Go Pilot, Active Lane Keeping Assist, Traffic Sign Assist, Adaptive Highbeam Assist Plus and Active Parking Assist.
