WINNER: Sprinter bags eighth Fleet Van award

Mercedes-Benz’s Sprinter has been named the Motor Transport Awards’ Fleet Van of the Year for a record eighth time.

The Awards, which introduced the category 11 years ago, took place last night at the Grosvenor House Hotel, Park Lane, London.

Sprinter was highly-commended and awarded top marks for its service intervals, fuel economy, reliability, and dedicated dealer network, which offers extended opening hours.

Industry-leading levels of standard fit safety equipment and the range-covering 36month unlimited mileage warranty were also praised.

Singled out, however, were ADAPTIVE ESP and the Sprinter’s class-leading residual values.

The judges also commented on the 7G Tronic gearbox and the high level of driver comfort, featuring all the modern requirements.

Michael Kamper, Managing Director of Commercial Vehicles at Mercedes-Benz UK, said: “This is another outstanding achievement for the versatile and trustworthy Sprinter.

“Being awarded Motor Transport’s Fleet Van of the Year for the eighth time is an honour which allows us the knowledge of how the vehicle is thought of and received both by our customers and the judging panel.

“It’s important for us to deliver a best in class ownership experience via the passionate people at Mercedes-Benz who turn the brand promise into reality, every day.”

Made up of a group of experts drawn from the industry, the judging panel understands what is truly outstanding and deserves to be rewarded.

The Sprinter range is supported by 98 dedicated van locations provided through Mercedes-Benz’s franchised commercial vehicle dealer network.

There is a choice of more than 1,000 models and variants available, meaning Sprinter Panel vans, Minibuses and Chassis cabs appeal strongly to fleet operators and businesses.
