Diamond Logistics, the fastest growing fulfilment and delivery franchise business in the UK, celebrates 25 years since its first very first delivery.
Since the business was founded in 1992, Diamond Logistics has grown from two-person team, to a company generating over £12 million in annual revenue (forecast 2017-18), and with 20+ fulfilment centres across the UK.
Turning Diamond Logistics into a national business was an early vision and franchising was a huge part of achieving this. The first site was launched in Guildford, which is now the company’s headquarters, and this formed the avatar of what Diamond Logistics franchises would look like in the future. Since the commencement of the franchise project, Diamond Logistics has become the fastest growing logistics business with fulfilment centres forecast to double in 2018.
Other business milestones include:
• Founded as Diamond Dispatch – rebrands to Diamond Logistics in 1996
• First client was Barlow Solicitors – remains Diamonds longest standing client today
• In 2011 Kate decides to scale the business via the Diamond Logistics franchise model –which now includes 25 franchises sold around the country
• Partnering with a number of charities
• In 2016 the company soars into the Virgin Fast Track 100
Building businesses through one-stop logistics has been Diamond Logistics purpose since 1992. This has remained central to their service ever since the company was formed, along with providing support for entrepreneurs, which remains firmly at the heart of their business model.
Kate Lester, Founder and CEO of Diamond Logistics comments: “During the early days of my career, I soon realised that something was missing in the industry. There was a lack of diversity from companies to satisfy the growing need of customers for flexible fulfilment and delivery solutions and we saw this gap in the market and filled it.
“We have established ourselves firmly as a key player in the logistics and franchise industry,” Lester continues. “Looking ahead to the next ten years, we are looking to expand internationally, not only to support the growth of the business, but more so because we realise that we can harness our experience, skills and knowledge to support our clients. A continued focus on enhancing and improving the depth of our service delivery has been an objective for the business over the last 25 years, and will continue to be over the next 25.”
