BAGGED: New Mercedes Citan

Chimflue have added a Mercedes-Benz Citan to their fleet in celebration of their Silver Anniversary.

The Andover-based business now run examples from all three of the core model lines that make up the Mercedes range, with the latest Citan 109 CDI Long achieving up to 65.7mpg.

It lines up alongside a long-bodied Vito and a medium-length Sprinter, with all three maintained by local dealer Pentagon Commercials.

The Sprinter and Vito are assigned to two-man installation teams and are regularly used to tow a ‘cherry picker’.

“Mercedes-Benz’ vans are fit for purpose, reliable and cost-effective to operate.”

Meanwhile, the bigger Sprinter carries scaffold towers, pallets, flexible liners and larger equipment with the Citan allocated to a team who undertake smaller installations.

The company also owns another Vito – a Dualiner model with second row of seats, which is used regularly to support project work.

Sam Ford, Managing Director of Chimflue, said: “We’ve been growing strongly over the last few years and doing so in partnership with Mercedes-Benz, whose vans are fit for purpose, reliable and cost-effective to operate.

“Pentagon Commercials’ out of hours servicing capability is also a big attraction – it means we can drop a vehicle off at the end of the day and get it back first thing next morning, ready to go to work again.”
