BAD: Brake warn against poor weather

Road safety charity Brake are helping fleet drivers to stay safe in the bad weather by launching a new advice sheet.

The resource, sponsored by Arco, is available via Brake’s Fleet Safety Forum for fleet operators to distribute to their drivers.

Brake are calling on organisations to ensure drivers avoid driving at all if possible, be prepared by planning journeys around bad weather, and drive carefully and cautiously.

The advice sheet is available for free to Fleet Safety Forum subscribers, or can be purchased for £5 by non-subscribers.

Laura Woods, Research and Information Officer at Brake, said: “Driving can be risky even in good conditions, and in bad weather it can become very dangerous.

“I urge fleet managers to remind their drivers of the risks particularly at this time of year.

“This advice sheet is a useful, concise resource to help managers ensure their drivers know how to prepare for and avoid the risks associated with bad weather.”
