AION is set to open order books for its second UK model, the new AION UT electric supermini, in September, with first customer deliveries scheduled to begin in October.
Designed to raise expectations in the competitive B-segment, the AION UT combines class-leading space, quality and refinement with a level of standard equipment more commonly associated with larger, premium models.
At the heart of the new electric hatchback is a 60kWh battery providing a claimed range of 268 miles, giving the AION UT the longest standard range in its class. Rapid charging capability allows the battery to be replenished from 30% to 80% in just 24 minutes, making the UT suitable for both everyday commuting and longer journeys.
Performance is another area where the AION UT aims to stand apart from conventional superminis. Its 204PS electric motor delivers punchy acceleration, taking the car from 0-62mph in just 7.3 seconds and making it one of the quickest models in the segment.

AION UT combines style and specification
Available in five colours, the AION UT has been designed to deliver a distinctive appearance, with its playful front-end styling featuring owl-inspired headlights and a 2×2 ‘ice cube’ indicator and daytime running light cluster.
Inside, the emphasis is on quality and technology, with high-grade materials complemented by a comprehensive range of standard equipment. Features include heated front seats, a 14.6-inch central touchscreen and a 360-degree surround-view camera.
The AION UT will be offered in a single trim level, with customers able to add an optional Premium Pack. This introduces additional features including a panoramic glass roof, powered tailgate, ventilated driver’s seat and wireless smartphone charging.

AION UT engineered for UK roads
While the AION UT was designed in Europe, it has also been specifically engineered to cope with UK road conditions. This development programme builds on the work already carried out on the AION V earlier in 2026.
UK-specific changes include revisions to the springs, dampers, bump-stops and vehicle calibration, while the UT also benefits from a revised anti-roll bar designed to further optimise its handling and ride characteristics on British roads.
The new electric supermini will also come with AION’s Great 8 Promise as standard. The package provides an eight-year warranty, eight years of servicing, eight years of roadside assistance and MOT cover until the vehicle is eight years old.
Importantly for both private and fleet buyers, the VIN-locked package remains attached to the vehicle if ownership changes. This means subsequent owners can continue to benefit from the same comprehensive aftersales package.
With a long driving range, rapid charging, strong performance, extensive standard equipment and UK-specific chassis development, the AION UT is entering the market with ambitions to redefine what buyers can expect from a compact electric car.
