Volvo dealer Crossroads supply nine Euro 6 FH tractor units to Bedfords Group

Nine new, Euro 6 compliant, FH-500 tractor units have joined the fleet of logistics and supply chain management specialist Bedfords Group.

Bedfords is known for forging long-term, strategic partnerships in the transport industry, including those with vehicle and transport solution providers.

According to Bedfords Group’s Business Improvements Director Lee Nichols, the company decided to go with Volvo and Crossroads following a purchasing process that, among other factors, scrutinised vehicle reliability, indicated fuel performance, dealer support, dealer proximity and driver feedback:
“Our trucks are utilised seven days a week on high profile contract distribution, including newsprint […] Bedfords Group is very heavily focused on delivering the highest levels of customer service, so we have high expectations of our vehicles in terms of reliability. We also work closely with our transport solutions providers such as Crossroads Group to ensure that we optimise efficiency and minimise the risk of a breakdown in such a time sensitive delivery environment.”

The nine new trucks will be maintained on a thirty-six month Volvo Gold R&M contract at the dealership’s facility in Birstall.

Lee Nichols was keen to point out the importance of fulfilling their drivers’ expectations and needs when acquiring new trucks: “Bedfords Group are continually refreshing the transport fleet. The new Volvos are at the cutting edge of technology and I am pleased to say, have generated a high level of positive driver feedback. We take the drivers’ views on truck accommodation and working environment very seriously.”
