Oh, they’re half way there. Oh, living on a prayer

You may recall our previous article reporting on the team of seven daredevils trekking across Europe in a fleet of Vauxhall Vivaro’s to raise money for the Help For Heroes charity.

We’re proud to report that we’ve just received news that the team has reached the halfway point in its marathon 12,000 mile road trip across Europe and Asia.

After over a month of travelling, the fleet of three Vivaros arrived in Kazakhstan before moving in to Mongolia and embarking upon the final part of the journey through Siberia. They hope to arrive at the Eastern city of Magadan on the Pacific coast of Russia towards the end of August.

The expedition has seen former soldiers team up with a crew of specialists to embark upon the journey of a lifetime in three Vivaro vans.

The route from Europe’s most westerly road to Asia’s most easterly has taken in ten time zones, two continents and 17 countries including the UK, Ireland, France, Belgium, Germany, Austria, Hungary, Romania, Bulgaria, Turkey, Georgia, Azerbaijan, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Mongolia and Russia.

“This is the opportunity for some lucky ex-services personnel to take part in a memorable two-month journey to help them re-adjust to civilian life,” said Steve Bryant, Brand Manager, Vauxhall Commercial Vehicles. “It’s also the perfect opportunity to demonstrate that the all-new Vivaro is built to take it all.”

The trip is fully funded by Vauxhall and other participating equipment sponsors including Max Adventure, Craghoppers and Continental.
