FIAT Professional dealership Walton Summit, Preston, has delivered 22 FIAT Doblò Cargo vans and 10 Doblò Work Up pickup vehicles to A-Plant, one of the UK’s largest plant, tool and equipment hire companies. The order of 32 new vehicles is the latest phase in an association between A-Plant and FIAT Professional which began in 2007 when A-Plant ordered 10 Doblò Cargo vans for the delivery and collection of tools, construction and industrial equipment to its clients all around the UK. Since then A-Plant has ordered a total of 123 FIAT Professional vehicles, which represents an investment of more than £1.1 million.
The FIAT Doblò Cargo vans ordered by A-Plant are predominantly standard-wheelbase vans powered by FIAT Professional’s outstanding 1.3-litre MultiJet II turbo diesel engine, which offers extremely low running costs without sacrificing performance or inhibiting the vans’ carrying capacity. The vans photographed feature a Survey Hire Express livery, a division of A-Plant devoted to providing surveying equipment, such as automatic levels, theodolites, total stations and rotating lasers to construction companies, civil engineers, surveyors and utilities organisations.
A-Plant’s FIAT Doblò Work Up pickups operate in the London area and are specially equipped with tail-lifts, installed in the UK by Fosters Commercials, Preston. The lightweight lifts have a minimal impact on the overall vehicle payload, thus enabling the A-Plant Doblò Work Up pickups to deliver and collect larger or awkwardly-proportioned pieces of equipment in congested areas where larger vehicles would struggle.
Commenting on the latest order Sebastiano Fedrigo, Head of FIAT Professional UK, said, “We’re delighted that A-Plant continues to choose the FIAT Doblò Cargo for its equipment delivery fleet. Although FIAT Professional has a long association with A-Plant we’re very aware that the company will always be looking to get the best return on its investment so we continue to work with them to not only offer the best vans with the lowest running costs but also to offer them the peace-of-mind of exceptional customer support. A-Plant’s reputation is built on providing quality equipment where and when it’s needed and FIAT Professional is proud to work with A-Plant to ensure they always deliver.”
Shaun Winstanley, A-Plant Director of Transport, added, “Getting our equipment delivered to where it’s needed and at the time we’ve promised the customer is critical to the success of A-Plant and in order to do that we need a fleet of vehicles that are capable, versatile and very dependable. The FIAT Doblò Cargo fits the bill perfectly because it also manages to offer extremely low running costs and a substantial payload within its compact shape.”
A-Plant has an annual turnover of £320 million, and is one of the UK’s largest plant, tools and equipment hire companies, providing a vast range of non-operated equipment including power tools, cement mixers, excavators, compressors, scissor lifts and even accommodation units. A-Plant invests millions of pounds each year in new equipment and state-of-the-art technology, to ensure its customers can hire the very latest equipment from world-class manufacturers such as JCB, Terex, SDMO, Doosan, JLG, Hilti and Makita.
The versatility and adaptability of the FIAT Doblò Cargo range means there is a van to suit just about every customer’s needs, regardless of fleet size or requirements. With a payload of up to one tonne and a load volume of up to 5m3, the Doblò Cargo has impressive carrying capacity both in terms of weight and size. Its engine range provides low running costs and emissions, while an astonishing number of variants are offered, making an excellent range of choice for any business looking to either expand or make changes to their fleet.
