Camera Telematics, the leaders in-vehicle camera technology enabling fleet operators to achieve the highest standards of risk management strategies has announced that it has entered into a partnership with Carreg Fawr Developments Ltd, to supply Camera Telematics’ iC360 multi-camera system across their fleet of vans and trucks. Based in South Wales, Carreg Fawr Developments manufacture and install powder-coated aluminium windows, doors, curtain walling and glazed roofing systems for commercial and domestic clients across the UK.
With a fleet in constant use throughout the UK, often delivering large be-spoke glass and aluminium frames, the installation of Camera Telematics’ iC360 multi camera system across the fleet ensures that Carreg Fawr’s duty of care obligations are fully met with regards to road safety and driver behaviour. In addition, Carreg Fawr expects to benefit from improvements in key areas of fleet utilisation and insurance premiums management following the widespread installation of the vehicle camera solution on its vehicles.
Commenting on the partnership with Camera Telematics, Marcel Baillon, Financial Director of Carreg Fawr said: “Delivering large, high-value goods such as double-glazed glass units and aluminium window and door frames mean that as a business, we have a great responsibility for meeting our duty of care responsibilities when driving on Britain’s roads as well as ensuring compliance with our own Health and Safety Policy responsibilities towards both employees and members of the general public. Having the iC360 system installed on each of our vehicles means we are able to utilise up to 12 separate cameras per vehicle allowing us to monitor/record a full 360-degree angle in addition to in-cab footage.”
Mr Baillon concludes: “Prior to the adoption of iC360, we used SD card-based dashcams supplied by another supplier but we experienced a substantial amount of downtime as a result of SD card reliability and the requirement of having to re-format the cards on a regular basis. Camera Telematics’ iC360 with 4G & Wi-Fi technology has proven far more reliable and totally eliminates the need for regular re-formatting of SD cards. Additionally, it provides us with real time video information and fleet location as
Well as being fully CLOCS, RHA, X RAIL & FORS compliant. When a roadside incident or accident occurs the availability of instant visual evidence delivered by the iC360 system provides Carreg Fawr drivers with the highest levels of protection from insurance fraud and accident management assistance. Overall, we have found the iC360 a great success and the support we have received from the Camera Telematics’ team has been invaluable.”
Commenting on the partnership with Carreg Fawr, Simon Catt, Operations Director for Camera Telematics said: “Duty of care is key for all businesses, but in particular for Carreg Fawr with large, expensive goods being delivered throughout the UK. The installation of a multi-camera solution ensures a complete 360 degrees recording around the vehicle as well as in-cab footage to ensure exemplary driver behaviour. The 4G iC360 system is connected via a sim card, which allows Carreg Fawr to remotely access any footage, as well as receiving email alerts for any events such as a high g-sensor trigger. The iC360 delivers a robust solution to ensuring that Carreg Fawr’s duty of care responsibilities are met.”
