Durite Live AI brings a new dimension to fleet road safety
Commercial vehicle operators are finding new ways to spot risk earlier, support their drivers and improve safety across their fleets. According to vehicle safety specialist Durite, connected and AI-enabled technology is driving that change.
The company has recently launched Durite Live AI, an AI-powered fleet management platform. It brings live vehicle tracking, AI-enabled video telematics, driver behaviour analysis and predictive fleet insights together in a single connected ecosystem.
Durite believes the launch reflects a wider shift in how fleet operators approach road safety. Many operators once relied on reviewing incidents after they had happened. AI now helps them identify unsafe behaviour and developing risks in real time, which allows them to step in sooner.
“Connected safety technologies are becoming an increasingly important part of modern fleet management,” says Vidwan Algoo, Fleet Technology Manager at Durite. “AI-enabled systems can provide operators with valuable real-time insight into driver behaviour, road conditions and operational risks, allowing earlier intervention and improved decision-making across the fleet.”
How Durite Live AI works
The platform analyses driver behaviour and trip data as it happens. It detects potential risks, prioritises alerts and provides tailored driver coaching. Fleet managers can therefore concentrate on the events that need the most attention instead of sifting through large volumes of routine data.
Its capabilities include AI Risk Detection, Driver Monitoring, Trip Binding driver coaching and First Notice of Loss reporting. An integrated 24/7 AI Assistant completes the package.
Protecting privacy as video use grows
Privacy matters more as video-based safety technology becomes widespread. Durite Live AI addresses this with automatic face pixelation and mosaic blurring of individuals where appropriate. These features help operators uphold their privacy policies and meet GDPR requirements, and the recorded footage keeps its evidential value.
A wider connected safety strategy
Operators can also use the platform as part of a broader connected vehicle safety strategy. Durite’s portfolio includes driver monitoring systems, wireless AI camera kits, AI Low Bridge Detection and camera monitoring systems. The company also supplies a range of other vehicle safety technologies.
Strong interest across sectors
Durite launched Live AI at Road Transport Expo and says interest has since come from many sectors. Operators in haulage, logistics, utilities, recovery, construction and local government have all made enquiries.
“We met organisations at every stage of their fleet technology journey, from operators looking to introduce AI for the first time to those seeking a more integrated approach to fleet safety and operational management,” adds Vidwan Algoo.
“The level of engagement reinforces the growing recognition that connected technologies can deliver significant benefits across compliance, driver welfare, operational efficiency and risk management.”
The future of commercial vehicle safety
Durite expects this connected approach to become an important part of commercial vehicle safety. Operators will be able to combine traditional safety equipment with intelligent systems that give them greater visibility of risk. Drivers and fleet managers can then respond before incidents occur.
