Tusker providing clients with advice and enhancements

Market-leading contract hire and salary sacrifice provider, Tusker, has introduced new green initiatives for fleet clients including advice on ultra-low emission vehicles (ULEV) and enhancements to its carbon offsetting commitment.

Following a thorough review of the environmental impact across all its activities, Tusker’s new initiatives are aimed at cutting carbon emissions and helping customers and drivers reduce their carbon footprint.

Tusker’s aim is to have only carbon neutral cars on the road within the next three years and, to help achieve this, the company have partnered with carbon offsetting specialists, Carbon Footprint. By offsetting the tailpipe emissions for all new cars, all fleet customers’ drivers now have a carbon neutral car for the duration of the vehicle agreement.

Tusker Chief Commercial Officer, Iain Carmichael, said: “This is a unique added benefit for our customers who are then able to utilise this carbon offsetting under business travel as part of their carbon management plan. To date, we have offset over 20,000 tons of carbon.
“We expect this to reach 30,000 tons by the end of this year, with a target of 60,000 tons during 2015,” he added.

The company has now received independent recognition for its efforts. Following these green initiatives, Tusker has been highly commended in the Green Award category at this year’s BusinessCar Techie Awards.

“The wealth of information and guidance offered through Tusker’s ultra-low emission vehicle microsite is excellent, and can only be of benefit to business car fleets and drivers looking to adopt such technology,” commented BusinessCar Editor, Paul Barker.
“Combine that with the carbon offset offering and it makes it easy for drivers to cut their environmental impact, which has real benefits for a business’s corporate social responsibility reporting as well. It’s a notable success and Tusker is well worth its Highly Commended accolade.”
