LeShuttle Freight launches LeShuttle Freight Driver Companion App

LeShuttle Freight is hosting a week-long celebration of drivers: Driver Week. Starting on 22nd October, the festivities begin with the launch of the new LeShuttle Freight Driver Companion App ahead of a busy calendar of different events and activities for LeShuttle Freight customers.

The LeShuttle Freight Driver Companion app has been developed with drivers in mind, delivering a smarter, simpler way to keep users connected, informed and supported on every journey.

The new app will allow LeShuttle Freight to connect and engage with drivers before they enter the facilities, providing bespoke and convenient information, including customised live travel and shuttle status updates, alongside other useful data.

An evolution of the previous Driver Info platform, LeShuttle Freight Driver Companion is more than simply an informative tool. Through the app, drivers will be able to access fun and enjoyable features such as Play and Win competitions with exciting prizes, as well as information about duty free offers, and regular updates on events taking place at LeShuttle Freight Village and the terminals.

Keeping drivers connected, informed and entertained on every journey, it is a true companion in every driver’s pocket.

With the mental and physical wellbeing of drivers always a priority for the LeShuttle Freight team, Driver Week – which runs until the 28 October – will feature a series of events with a strong focus on preventative health and physical activity. From free health checks to a ‘blend your own’ smoothie bike, the week-long celebrations will have something for every driver to enjoy. The always-popular LeShuttle Freight teddy bears will also be given away as an extra treat.

Aude Bourdel, Freight Product and Customer Engagement Director at LeShuttle, comments: “From our ongoing investment in providing a convenient, safe, and secure service and stop-off point, we are committed in our pledge to continue to invest in and improve the wellbeing and comfort of drivers wherever possible. Our gold ESPORG accreditation, awarded earlier this year, gives reassurance that LeShuttle Freight Village is safe and secure space for drivers to stop and rest on their journeys. However, we want to provide more than just a place to stop, which is why moments like Driver Week are so important. The feedback in previous years has been excellent, which is why we have made the decision to extend it to a fully week. Not just a celebration of drivers, but a perfect example of how we strive to invest in supporting their mental and physical health.”

Aude finishes, “We can’t wait to celebrate with every driver who travels with us that week and visits the LeShuttle Freight Village.”

LeShuttle Freight Village

LeShuttle Freight Village, conveniently situated at the LeShuttle Freight Terminal off the A16 motorway in Coquelles, is a purpose-built truck park and environment for freight drivers, designed to support their comfort, wellbeing, and daily needs. With over 309 spaces available and on-site facilities which include freshly prepared food, free hot drinks in the dedicated lounge, showers, laundry services, Wi-Fi, and a rolling calendar of live events — it has been created to enhance the driver experience beyond expectations.

Additionally, in recognition of the team’s continuous dedication to safety, LeShuttle Freight Village was awarded the prestigious gold certification by ESPORG, a highly recognised European security award within the freight and logistics industry.

As leaders in low-carbon cross-Channel transportation, approximately 1.2 million trucks were transported through the tunnel in 2024 aboard one of the 15 Truck Shuttles. LeShuttle Freight is a vital link in the global supply chain and carries a quarter of the goods exchanged between the UK and continental Europe thanks to the speed, ease and flexibility of its service with up to 6 departures per hour. At 800m long, each Truck Shuttle can carry up to 32 trucks for the 35-minute journey between Folkestone and Calais.
