Lex Autolease enhances LCV proposition with investment in specialist team

The UK’s leading commercial vehicle provider is investing in its 32-strong light commercial vehicle (LCV) team and building on its Gold Partnership with the FTA, to help develop and enhance its customer experience.

CV Specialists from Lex Autolease’s Central team recently passed the FTA Van Excellence

Lex Autolease has put 20 of its CV Specialists through the FTA Van Excellence – Van Operations Certification course, which is designed to give delegates the knowledge to overcome complex operational challenges, and confidently advise on regulatory issues surrounding towing, licensing, driving hours, maintenance and passenger transport.

The business is the only top-10 vehicle leasing provider in the UK to subscribe to the course, and all 20 delegates will be certified for the next three years after passing with flying colours.

The next stage of investment in the team will see the integration of Lex Autolease’s CV Specialists into the business’s day-to-day account teams, so that customers benefit from their knowledge and expertise throughout the lifetime of their contracts.

A rebrand in 2018 saw the Lex Autolease commercial vehicle internal helpdesks, engineers and supplier managers come together under the banner of ‘CV Specialist Teams’, to give its LCV function a consistent identity and promote the sharing of best practice.

Split across its locations in the North West and the Midlands, the team structure ensures that there are category specialists on both sites, expert in specific complex vehicle types and conversions, and within easy reach of customers nationwide in need of advanced LCV solutions.

Mark Grundy, Strategic Product & Proposition Manager – Commercial Vehicles at Lex Autolease, commented: ““Any business that requires a van does so to support a specific job role.  Without the van, the job cannot be completed, and the business will grind to a halt.

“As fleet partner to more than 41,000 UK businesses, we are responsible for ensuring customers have a fleet that’s fit for purpose and that can deliver against their specific needs.  Our product capability is unrivalled – 75 per cent of our commercial vehicles are bespoke, complex builds – and now we’re investing in our customer experience, too.

“The fleet market is going through a period of unprecedented technological, regulatory and legislative change – more so than ever before, businesses need a trusted advisor who can guide them towards the right vehicle, for the right job, with the right funding.”

Lex Autolease was responsible for one in 21 new van registrations in 2018 and has more than 100,000 commercial vehicles on fleet, including more than 580 pure electric models.
