Humax launches MX PRO 22kW EV charger for growing fleets
Humax EV Charging will launch its new Humax MX PRO 22kW EV charger at Fleet & Mobility Live at Birmingham’s NEC on 6 and 7 October 2026.
The company will showcase the charger on stand H3 as a commercial charging solution for fleets, depots, workplaces, commercial buildings and apartment developments.
Humax has designed the MX PRO to simplify both initial installation and future expansion. The charger combines intelligent charging technology with an installation architecture that allows organisations to increase charging capacity as their electric vehicle fleets grow.
For fleet operators, that scalability could help reduce the disruption and cost associated with expanding charging infrastructure.
EV charging infrastructure designed to scale
One of the key features of the Humax MX PRO is its approach to large-scale charger deployment. Sites can install electrical infrastructure in advance using the MX PRO backplate and protective dummy cover, known as MX Ready.
This allows electrical preparation to take place before the individual charging units become necessary. Operators can then add MX PRO chargers to the prepared backplates as demand increases.
The approach could prove particularly useful for fleets that expect their electric vehicle numbers to rise over several years. Rather than installing every charger from the outset, operators can prepare the site and expand capacity in stages.
Daisy-chain connectivity also reduces cabling requirements. Dynamic load balancing distributes available electrical power across multiple chargers, helping operators make better use of the capacity available at a site.
Matthew McMullan, director, Automotive and Energy at Humax EV Charging, said, “Fleet electrification is not simply about installing more charge points. Operators require infrastructure that is straightforward to deploy today but does not restrict what they can do tomorrow. The Humax MX PRO has been designed to address the challenge of future-proofing installations and minimising infrastructure disruption.
“Furthermore, the Humax MX PRO brings a range of fleet-focused technologies into a single platform. One of the most important aspects is our agnostic approach to CPMS. We are already integrated with Monta, Fuuse and Ta, and are open to integrating with other CPMS providers.”
Open approach to charge point management
Humax has placed software flexibility at the centre of the MX PRO. The charger supports OCPP 1.6J and can upgrade to OCPP 2.0.1, allowing operators to connect with a range of charge point management systems (CPMS).
The company already integrates with Monta, Fuuse and Ta. It says its approach remains open to further CPMS integrations.
This could give fleet managers greater choice over the software platforms they use to monitor and manage charging infrastructure. It also avoids tying hardware investment to a single software ecosystem.
The MX PRO uses a split-data architecture. This allows Humax to maintain access to charger diagnostics and maintenance information while the operator uses its preferred third-party CPMS.
McMullan added, “Fleet operators increasingly look for the freedom to choose the software ecosystem that works for their business, without losing access to specialist hardware support. Our approach with the MX PRO is open by design. It gives operators flexibility at the CPMS level while allowing Humax to remain connected to the hardware for diagnostics and maintenance.”
Automated charging and billing
The Humax MX PRO also includes technologies designed to simplify the charging experience for fleet users.
Its AutoCharge function can start charging automatically when a recognised vehicle connects. Plug & Charge, using the ISO 15118-2 standard, provides secure vehicle identification without requiring drivers to use an app or RFID card.
For commercial operators, accurate energy measurement and cost recovery also remain important considerations. The MX PRO includes a MID-certified meter to support accurate billing.
A 4.3-inch LCD display provides charging information to users, alongside a digital QR code.
Connectivity is another key element of the system. The MX PRO incorporates a built-in 4G eSIM, allowing network providers to change without replacing physical SIM cards across individual chargers.
The charger also supports Ethernet, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and Zigbee. Built-in PLC and V2G readiness provide further scope for future connected charging applications.
MX PRO 22kW charging for fleet and workplace sites
The MX PRO delivers up to 22kW of three-phase charging and supports both single-phase and three-phase installations.
Humax has designed the unit for wall mounting, with optional pole mounting also available. The charger carries IP54 and IK10 ratings and includes a range of integrated electrical protections.
For fleet depots, the ability to combine multiple chargers with dynamic load balancing could help operators manage charging demand without automatically requiring a corresponding increase in site power capacity.
That becomes increasingly important as more vans, cars and other commercial vehicles move to electric power. Fleet operators need to consider not only how many vehicles they operate today, but also how charging requirements will change as electrification progresses.
Humax targets UK fleet electrification
The MX PRO launch builds on Humax’s experience in the EV charging market. The company has deployed more than 18,000 EV chargers across South Korea, covering residential and commercial charging environments.
The UK launch comes as fleet operators continue to assess how best to scale charging infrastructure alongside the transition to electric vehicles.
For businesses, charging infrastructure represents a long-term investment. The ability to prepare sites in advance, add chargers when required and retain flexibility over CPMS providers could therefore become increasingly important.
McMullan summarised, “The Humax MX PRO brings together what we have learned from operating at scale with what UK fleet customers are asking for: simpler installation, easier expansion, open integration and hardware that is ready for the next generation of connected charging. Fleet & Mobility Live is the ideal place for us to introduce that proposition directly to the fleet industry.”
The Humax MX PRO will be on display at Fleet & Mobility Live 2026, taking place at the NEC Birmingham on 6 and 7 October.
