COMING: New Polo hits UK in July
Volkswagen’s new Polo is now available to order priced from £11,100.
Scheduled for first deliveries in July, the Polo is billed as ‘cleaner and greener’, with fuel economy of up to 83.1mpg and CO2 emissions from 88g/km.
The figures represent a 23% improvement on the outgoing model, while five different trim levels are available: S, SE, SE Design, SEL and BlueGT.
S versions come equipped with a six-speaker Composition Audio System with 5.0inch colour touchscreen, SD card reader, DAB radio and USB and aux-in connections.
SE trim adds the likes of 15inch ‘Lyon’ alloy wheels, electrically-adjustable door mirrors, a leather-trimmed three-spoke multi-function steering wheel, multi-function trip computer, air conditioning and a Composition Media System with 6.5inch colour touchscreen.
Volkswagen’s SE Design model offers additional kit including 16inch ‘Portago’ alloy wheels, LED number-plate illumination and ‘Pyramid’ cloth upholstery.
The SEL model adds 16inch ‘Rivazza’ alloy wheels, front fog lights, tinted rear-windows, illuminated front footwells and a front centre armrest with storage compartment.
Meanwhile, the range-topping BlueGT model comes with a 1.4litre TSI 150PS engine with ACT cylinder deactivation, and rides on 17inch ‘Montani’ alloy wheels.
All variants are equipped with electronic stability control, Hill Hold and an Automatic Post-Collision Braking System.
New optional safety features include a Driver Alert System and Adaptive Cruise Control with Front Assist and City Emergency Braking.
Automatic lights and wipers, electronic climate control, an electric sliding glass sunroof, electrically folding door mirrors and bi-xenon headlights are also optional.
A new Polo BlueMotion TSI – the first petrol BlueMotion model in Volkswagen’s line-up – will become available towards the end of 2014.
