RAPID: New Vauxhall Insignia VXR SuperSport

Vauxhall are set to reveal their 170mph, 325PS Insignia VXR SuperSport – the UK’s fastest sub-£30,000 car – at next month’s Frankfurt Motor Show.

The vehicle, available in £29,749 hatch or £31,049 sports tourer versions, benefits from design and chassis revisions which have been made across the entire Insignia range.

With six-speed manual transmission and all-wheel-drive, it reaches 60mph from zero in just 5.9 seconds – 6.1 seconds for Sports Tourer.

Its drivetrain incorporates an electronically controlled 4×4 system, operating on Haldex principles and an electronic limited-slip differential.

The vehicle constantly adapts to prevailing road conditions and varies torque distribution between the front and rear axles, as well as between the rear wheels.

Other important additions include an all-new instrument panel and central console design, which incorporates optional Bluetooth-operated internet connectivity, an 8inch touchscreen, 3D navigation and voice control.

The Vauxhall Insignia VXR SuperSport is available to order now.
