BENEFIT: Customers can now grab latest TomTom

Two million European rental drivers every year will benefit from cutting-edge TomTom technology after Hertz integrated NeverLost 5 into a range of their cars.

The satellite navigation devices are being made available to Hertz customers in more than 700 major airports and cities across 18 European countries.

More than 8,000 units of the new device will be launched over the next 24 months, with scope to increase this number further.

The figure is more than double the volume of the outgoing NeverLost 4 partnership between Hertz and TomTom, which launched in 2011.

Michel Taride, Group RAC President of Hertz International, said: “We are committed to giving our customers a superior service, and we know that with the NeverLost5 navigation devices, we will be offering rental drivers an enhanced driving experience.”

The NeverLost 5 portable system features a touchscreen, turn-by-turn directions in 45 languages, and a large database of pre-programmed locations.

It is now available in Austria, Belgium, Czech Republic, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, Norway, Portugal, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, and United Kingdom.

The devices can be booked in advance when making an online reservation or by phone.

Corinne Vigreux, Managing Director of TomTom, added: “TomTom is delighted to be extending its partnership with Hertz.

“This partnership will give over two million rental drivers across Europe every year a navigation experience they can trust.”

Specially designed for Hertz customers, the Hertz NeverLost satellite navigation system was initially launched in Europe in November 2005.
