CHIEF: Bertie Maxwell appointed Chairman
Bertie Maxwell is the new Chairman of trg Logistics, as the company shake up their Board of Directors.
The logistics and driver recruitment firm have selected Mr Maxwell to replace the outgoing Nick Gordon, who is to concentrate fully on his duties as CEO.
Mr Gordon said: “This move is another positive step further that underlines the growth of trg and its transition into an established and successful UK business.
“The company is undergoing a rapid expansion programme and the current Board of Directors are all committed to delivering ambitious plans for growth over the next five years.
“As Chairman, Bertie will use his proven expertise to oversee this strategy and direction going forward, delivering the trg vision at all levels of the company.”
Mr Maxwell has been a Board member of trg since 2008, when he was appointed Finance Director.
After Nigel Schroder replaced him in 2011 as Finance Director, Mr Maxwell continued his involvement at trg as non-executive independent board member.
A Cambridge engineering graduate and qualified Chartered Accountant, Mr Maxwell has spent the last 25 years as Finance Director in numerous entrepreneurial businesses.
These include both listed companies and private sector organisations, where he has provided financial and strategic direction.
He has significant experience of flotations, MBOs and other corporate transactions across a wide range of industries.
His extensive involvement in the transport and logistics industry includes truck rental operations in North America and staffing and recruitment.
