UNMASKED: Aygo hits UK in summer

Toyota have unveiled their all-new Aygo.

The city car, which was unmasked last week at the Geneva Motor Show, will hit the UK this summer boasting revisions to its award-winning three-cylinder 1.0litre VVT-i petrol engine.

Fuel consumption has been boosted to 68.8mpg, while CO2 emissions are down to 95g/km – below the 100g/km threshold for VED exemption.

It will also showcase Toyota’s new x-touch multimedia system, the first in its segment to come with a rear view camera as standard.

Exterior changes to the Aygo include a 25mm length increase and a 5mm height decrease, with a lower roof and a front header which has been moved forwards.

Inside, the vehicle offers a revised trapezoidal centre console, 9mm longer cabin and a 29litre luggage space boost.

Toyota will encourage customisation, with customers able to specify the X-shaped front grille, rear bumper insert, enhanced front bumper and alloy wheels to suit.

The instrument panel, centre console, air vents, shift knob and gear lever surround can also easily be changed, even after years of ownership.

Customers can also choose from a range of exterior and interior styling packs if they prefer, rather than selecting piece-by-piece customisation.

Full details of the UK model range and prices will be announced closer to the on-sale date.
