STORM: New Subaru Impreza
Subaru are bringing the Impreza back to the UK, it has been confirmed.
Arriving in May, priced from £17,495, the vehicle – which is as a one-engine, one-trim offering – will become the only C-segment contender to offer standard all-wheel-drive.
Paired with an 114PS 1.6litre Boxer engine and a choice of five-speed manual or Lineartronic transmission, standard kit will also include automatic start/stop.
It will be capable of accelerating 0-60mph in 12.3seconds and a top speed of 114mph, with fuel economy of up to 46.3mpg and CO2 emissions from 140g/km.
Subaru claim a combination of a more favourable exchange rate and persistent customer demand has led to the small volume return.
On the outside, the five-door hatchback sports hawk-eye headlights, hexagonal grille and prominent wheel arches.
Inside, the cabin offers a wide field of vision, wider door dimensions and higher hip points in all seats.
The dashboard and steering wheel feature clear switches and controls, with a multifunction display screen atop the central console.
Standard features of the RC-specified Impreza includes auto start/stop, automatic headlamps and wipers, front fog lamps, power-folding heated door mirrors, windscreen wiper de-icer, 16inch alloy wheels, tyre repair kit and daytime running lights.
Dual-zone air-conditioning, rear passenger heating and ventilation ducts, six-way manually-adjustable driver’s seat, heated front seats, 60/40 split-fold rear seats, leather-wrapped steering wheel and gear knob, two 12V power outlets, USB and aux-in jacks, and a reversing camera are also included.
Three exterior colours will be available: Satin White, Ice Silver and Quartz Blue.
