CUT: STS benefit from Renault T520

Refrigerated haulage specialists STS Logistics Oswestry have enjoyed a 10% fuel saving thanks to the UK’s first Renault Range T520 high roof, flat floor sleeper.

The cut has been reported just two weeks after the left-hand drive vehicle, supplied by Renault Trucks Midlands, entered operation.

It is the first Renault in the eight-strong STS Logistics fleet, and is tasked with delivering frozen food from the Midlands to London and Kent, returning to the Midlands from Kent with fresh fruit and vegetables.

Andrew Morris, Director of STS Logistics, said: “My family and I have always been loyal to Renault Trucks since my father owned one of the very first Magnums in the 1990s which proved to be a very reliable vehicle.

“Our new Range T has only been on the road for two weeks but I’ve been delighted with its performance so far.

“In particular, the fuel consumption, which is critical in our business, appears to be very good with initial indications suggesting that we are getting approximately one mpg (or 10%) more than our other DAF and Mercedes vehicles.

“We also selected the Range T with our drivers in mind.

“The bigger cab and rest area, high roof and ease of access to the cab have all helped to make our drivers’ job easier and more comfortable.”
