LARGE: New Ford Tourneo Connect
Ford’s all-new five-seat Tourneo Connect and seven-seat Grand Tourneo Connect are now available to order ahead of delivery later this year.
Priced from £14,245 and £16,985 respectively, the Tourneo Connect and Grand Tourneo Connect add to Ford’s new generation of people movers, while offering up to 2,620litres of storage space.
Both models are ‘smart, stylish and affordable’, offering best-in-class flexibility, impressive fuel economy and class-unique technologies.
Stephen Lesh, Ford Tourneo Connect Chief Program Engineer, said: “The new Tourneo Connect is all about smart space – helping customers squeeze the most out of everyday motoring with an interior which is clever, flexible and very spacious.”
The five-seat Tourneo Connect offers the 50.4mpg, 129g/km 1.0litre EcoBoost petrol engine, as well as the 1.6litre Duratorq TDCi with a choice of 95PS and 115PS.
It delivers fuel economy of up to 61.4mpg and 120g/km CO2 emissions – 25% better than the current model.
For the first time, Tourneo Connect customers also have the option of six-speed automatic transmission.
Both models also offer highly flexible seating and a host of smart stowage areas, including aircraft-style overhead lockers above the rear seats and luggage area.
Other useful stowage areas include a large lockable glovebox, practical front door bins, centre consoles with cup holders, and a stowage compartment in the second-row footwell.
In addition, the car is equipped with a folding front passenger seat enabling items up to three metres long to be carried.
The new models are the first in their class to offer the automatic emergency braking system, Active City Stop.
They also deliver further technologies such as Ford SYNC with Emergency Assistance, Rear View Camera, and Trailer Sway Assist.
Electric Power Assisted Steering, a gearshift indicator and Ford ECO Mode driver information system are standard on all models.
