Kumho’s Road Venture MT51 is its latest mud-terrain offering for 4×4 vehicles. It has very deliberately been designed to fit below the company’s extreme off-road pattern, the well-established Road Venture MT KL71, and therefore combines great off-road capability with a very impressive level of on-road performance; not least first class braking on both gravel and tarmac.
MT51 achieves its notable degree of mud-terrain traction courtesy of zigzag grooves and a robust shoulder design. Other salient features include shoulder notching for effective rock crawling performance, a sidewall bitter to minimise the risk of puncture, a tread pattern designed to optimise the rejection of mud and stones, and sipes to assist with the advent of snow.
The newcomer is currently available in 12 popular sizes to suit 4x4s equipped with wheel rims of 15, 16 and 17 inches in diameter. The aggressive sidewall motif is designed to complement the professional environment of heavy equipment in which the MT51 is quite likely to find itself, and carries both M + S and snowflake markings.
