PERFORMANCE: New Kia Cee’d GT

Kia’s new Cee’d GT is now on sale.

The Korean manufacturer’s debut high-performance hatchback, which is priced from £20,495 and complements last year’s three-door Pro_Cee’d GT, offers 201hp from its 1.6litre T-GDi engine.

It is available in two trim levels – GT and GT Tech – and boasts a 0-60mph time of 7.4seconds and a top speed of 143mph.

Fuel consumption is at 38.2mpg, with CO2 emissions at 171g/km.

Kia have re-tuned the Cee’d GT’s suspension to suit the upped power output, with damper rebound and compression rates increased and springs and bushes stiffened.

The vehicle is paired with 18inch alloy wheels and the most powerful brakes ever fitted to the Cee’d range.

Standard kit includes Recaro sports seats, air conditioning, cruise control, speed limiter, automatic lights, cornering lights, reversing sensors, Bluetooth, iPod connectivity, and electric windows and folding mirrors.

Safety features included are Electronic Stability Control, Vehicle Stability Management, Hill-start Assist Control, anti-lock brakes and Brake Assist.

The GT Tech trim adds a seven-inch touchscreen with satellite navigation, reversing camera display, heated front seats and steering wheel, dual-zone climate control and engine stop/start button.
