DEAL: 200 Ford Transit Customs for National Grid

Ford have provided 200 new Transit Custom vans to the National Grid for use by their engineers maintaining the gas supply network.

The new additions, which join National Grid’s existing 3,350-strong fleet, are fully-liveried ECOnetic models, powered by a 2.2litre TDCi 100PS diesel engine.

They are equipped with racking systems, first aid equipment and special lighting, and are being used for emergency call-outs and day-to-day jobs by engineers.

Stephen Gafson, Direct Sales Manager at Ford, said: “The new Transit Custom is ideally suited to its role with National Grid and financially it clearly makes sense to the company, too.

“We are very pleased that Ford’s long association with National Grid is to continue.”
