Leading automotive retailer Evans Halshaw has launched a 1-hour delivery service at its DAF dealership in Sheffield, with plans for other Evans Halshaw DAF retailers in Birtley, Leeds and Stockton to follow suit in the near future. Currently, the dealerships offer delivery of parts twice a day.
The unique service will provide customers in Sheffield with DAF Truck parts, TRP all-makes truck and trailer parts as well as Schmitz Cargobull parts within 60 minutes of ordering them; this is available Monday to Friday 9:00am to 3:30pm. The delivery commitment is cost-free to all account holders in qualifying Sheffield post codes. Excluded post codes (S32, S33, S40, S41, S42, S43, S45, S64, S71, S72, S80 and S81) include Chesterfield, Worksop, North Barnsley and Hope Valley. Although these areas do not qualify for the 1-hour delivery service at this time, Evans Halshaw DAF Sheffield are still able to deliver parts to these locations.
To ensure optimum delivery time, a telematics route planning system has been installed in the delivery vans – as well as at base – which coincide with one another to establish the most efficient route for deliveries. The telematics device also takes aspects such as traffic into consideration, ensuring an accurate anticipated delivery time.
